Surgery and Dental Services Specific instructions will be given to you for each of your pets. In general, surgeries are scheduled weekdays and usually require at least a few days notice. Your pet should have no food after 10 p.m. the previous night. Most of the time it is okay to have water available the day before, especially in older animals.
Upon arriving home after hospitalization, most pets should not have anything orally for a least a few hours - unless you have been instructed otherwise. It is also a good idea to limit your pets’ activity for a few days following a surgical procedure.
If you have any problems with your pet such as vomiting, diarrhea, or unusual discharge, please take away all food and water and call us.
