| Dr. Kris Blumenstock
Was born in Cooperstown, New York, surrounded by dogs, cats, horses and cows-lots and lots of cows. Everyone knew she was destined to be a veterinarian, everyone, that is except her!
She went to Mount Holyoke College and loved every minute of it. Graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science but with no definite plans for the future. She took time off from her studies and worked at Harvard Medical School for several years. Then she decided to see what this veterinarian business was all about. She worked at Angell Memorial Veterinary Hospital as a radiology technician for a year before she applied to and was accepted to Cornell Veterinary School.
After 4 wonderful, grueling years, She graduated from Cornell in 1986. She decided not to work with cows ever again after graduation. She went into private practice in Maine specializing in companion animals and exotics. She worked in several practices in Maine and Massachusetts before settling at the Lloyd Animal Medical Center. At LAMC, she has continued her interest in exotic animal medicine as well as companion animal medicine and surgery.
She has started to develop alternative methods in small animal practice. She has taken a course in veterinary chiropractic's and practices Acupuncture currently at the hospital with much success.
Along the way, she married her husband Dan, and they have two wonderful girls-Jade and Amber. Her life, both as a vet and as a wife/mother is rewarding and fulfilling.
